About the program
A robot that works on a table is a good project. A device that sits in a field, measures soil moisture, and texts a farmer when the crop needs water is a product. IoT is the bridge between the two, and it is a short bridge once a student already has robotics.
The track runs on the NodeMCU (ESP8266): cheap, Wi-Fi-native and genuinely used in industry. Students connect sensors, publish readings to a cloud dashboard, set thresholds, trigger relays, and control the whole thing from a phone.
The projects are deliberately Indian problems — irrigation, air quality, water level, cold-storage temperature, home safety. Students end up with something a real person could plausibly use, which changes how seriously they take it.
