Coding & Computational Thinking

Before a student can build with AI, they have to think in steps. This is where that starts — blocks in the early grades, real Python by Grade 8.

About the program

Computational thinking is not a programming language. It is the habit of breaking a messy problem into ordered steps, spotting the pattern that repeats, and noticing the case that will break everything. Students who have it pick up any language later. Students who skip it memorise syntax and stall.

So the early grades work in blocks — drag, snap, run, watch it fail, fix it. There is no syntax to fight, only logic. By Grades 6–8 the same students move to Python, and the transition is small because the thinking was already there.

The stage is deliberately project-shaped. Students build small games, animations, quiz bots and calculators, and each one is theirs to demo. It maps directly onto the CBSE coding and AI skill modules, and it is the rung the whole ALLIN AI & Robotics ladder is built on.

Sequences & patterns

Instructions in order, and what happens when the order is wrong. Unplugged before it is ever on a screen.

Block coding

Loops, conditions, variables and events — built by dragging, so the logic is the only thing to learn.

Games & animation

Sprites, collisions and score-keeping. The first projects students actually want to show people.

Into Python

The same logic, now typed. Print, input, variables and the first honest syntax error.

Lists & loops

Handling many things at once, which is where real programs start to appear.

Functions

Naming a block of work and reusing it — the idea that makes big projects possible.

Debugging

Reading an error message calmly instead of deleting everything and starting over.

Build & demo

A self-chosen project, coded solo, presented to the class.
